<p>EAST HERKIMER-Mr. Frank J. Kavic, 92 formerly of Walnut Avenue, passed away on Saturday afternoon, April 17, 2010 peacefully in Valley Health Services, Herkimer. He was born on September 6, 1917 in North Bergen, NJ son of the late Frank and Pauline (Mercun) Kavic and graduated from Richfield Springs High School. His marriage to Anne Martinovic took place in 1946 in Little Falls. Mrs. Kavic passed away in October of 2006. The couple has resided in the Herkimer area since 1948. Frank was last employed with C. Scialdo and Sons Construction Company where he held the position of foreman. He was of the Catholic Faith and also was a 50 year member of Local Carpenter Union 747. Survivors include his two sons: Ronald Kavic of Warren, PA and Bob Kavic of Herkimer; a sister: Madeline Murdock and husband Bill of Saratoga Springs; two grandchildren; two great grandsons; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three sisters: Mary Mohar, Betty Bartos and Veronica Kavic. There are no calling hours. Funeral service will take place at the convenience of the Kavic family at Enea Family Funeral Home, 220 N. Washington St., Herkimer., (866-1011), with Father Thomas Lawless, officiating. Mr. Kavic will be laid to rest in St. Mary's Cemetery, town of Herkimer. Please omit floral offerings.
