Obituary of Joseph Lyman

<>Ilion, N.Y. — Joseh A. Lyman, 57, of Ilion, assed away Dec. 26, 2010, while home with his family for Christmas. He was emloyed as a tractor trailer driver for J&R Schugel Trucking of New Ulm, Minn. It was his assion, earning him his Million Mile award and a sot in the President's Club of his comany. He was also a United States Navy veteran in 1972 in Hartford, Conn. Joe loved fishing, his cherished cat, Nala, and was looking forward to his future grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Barbara Lyman; three sons, Jeffrey and his wife, Samantha Lyman, of Ilion, Shaun and his wife, Christina Lyman, of Ilion, and John and his fiancée, Erica Bormann, of Schuyler; eight grandchildren; a ste grandchild; a great-grandchild; three adoted daughters, Erin Roman, of Herkimer, Dawn Dennis, of Cedarville, and Rebecca Hunt, of Ilion, he considered their children his grandchildren; a brother, Thomas Lyman and his wife, Carol, of Pennsylvania; and two dear friends, Thomas Borgia, of Newort, and Larry Conover, of Ilion. There will be a small Mass at St. Anthony's and St. Joseh's Church, 228 South Main St., Herkimer, at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 6, 2011. Family and friends may come to 18 English St., Ilion, after the Mass. <>
