Peter Scott officiating.</p> <b>Cemetery</b> <p></p> <b>Obituary</b> <p>DOLGEVILLE- Beverly Nichols Lyon, 76 of Cline St. passed away on January 6,2009 peacefully at home with her loving family by her side. She was born in Oppenheim on April 29,1933, daughter of the late Howard and Viola (Perry) Nichols. She graduated as valedictorian of her class from Dolgeville Central School in 1951 and graduated from Utica School of Beauty Culture in 1952. She and her sisters operated a beauty salon on Main Street in Dolgeville for several years. She later worked as a phlebotomist and EKG technician for many years at Little Falls Hospital.On June 17,1955 she was united in marriage with Raymond Lyon with whom she shared a very special, loving bond. She cared for him until he passed away on August 10,1993. Beverly was always a very active person who enjoyed walking, kayaking and spending time with her friends and family. She was fortunate to be able to travel to many places throughout the world; but mostly she just loved being in the Adirondacks at her camp on Morehouse Lake. Beverly was a devoted member of the Salisbury Universalist Church where she served as Treasurer. She was also very involved in T.O.P.S. as well as various Senior Citizens and Historical Society Organizations. She will long be remembered for her determination, strong will, sense of humor and inspiration to others. She is survived by her daughter Denise Bowers and her husband Roger of Glendale,AZ; her sons Michael and his wife Sherie of Dolgeville and Douglas and his wife Linda of Groveland; her 8 grandchildren: Leslie, Becca and Matthew Bowers; Bethany Gutowski and her husband Eric; Shane and Evan Lyon and Alexandra and Jacob Lyon; her 2 great grandchildren Loriel Bowers-Vernier and Adrian Lyon, her sister Phyllis Miller and her husband Austin; several nieces and nephews ;her special Perry cousins and friends too numerous to mention She was predeceased by her parents, husband, her mother in law and father in law Dorothy and Murray Lyon, her sister Karen Delaney, her sister in law Eleanor Sherwood and her husband Frank and several cherished aunts and uncles. A memorial service will be held at the Little Falls Universalist Church at 1pm on Saturday January 9,2010 with the Rev. Peter Scott officiating. Beverly's family will receive friends and relatives at the church from 12pm until the time of the service. It was Beverly's wish that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to the Universalist Church, PO Box 195, Salisbury Center or to the Stratford- Salisbury Volunteer Ambulance Corps. PO Box 441 Salisbury Center. The family wishes to thank Dr. Haas and Beverly's beloved caregivers Laura, Anna and Donna. The family is being cared for by the Enea Family Funeral Home, 24 W. Monroe St. Little Falls. </p>
