Obituary of Alma Mager

LITTLE FALLS-Mrs. Alma E. Mager, age 88, of Little Falls, more recently a resident of the Folts Homes, Herkimer passed away on Saturday afternoon, June 11, 2011 at that facility. She was born on Feb. 15, 1923 in Amsterdam, daughter of the late Frank and Carrie (Reese) Wormer and educated in St. Johnsville and Dolgeville schools. She resided in Little Falls since 1940. On May 3, 1941 she was united in marriage with William J. "Bill" Mager in Emmanuel Episcopal Church, Little Falls with Rector A. Russell DeMaris, officiating. Mr. Mager passed away on October 2, 1980. She was last employed with Little Falls Hospital in the housekeeping department for 10 years. Prior to that she held employment with the former Felt Shoe Company and also at Daniel Green, Dolgeville. She was a member of the Emmanuel Episcopal Church, Little Falls and also past president of the Staff Sgt. Steve Stefula Auxillary VFW Post #4612, Little Falls. Survivors include her daughter: Bonnie Burton and husband Ernest of Dade City, FL; a brother, Frank Wormer of Glens Falls; three step grandchildren, Cheryl Murphy of Schenectady, Donna Burton of Bartow, FL and Lynne Burton-Johnson of Dade City, FL; two step great grandchildren, Aaron Paniccia, and Taylor Johnson; a niece, Linda Muench of Chestertown; a great niece, Carrie Muench of Boston; a great nephew, Joe Muench of Rennselaer; and several cousins. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Jean, and by her best friend, Larry "Red" Konik of Little Falls. Services will take place privately and at the convenience of the family with burial at Rural Park Cemetery, Inghams Mills. In her memory please consider contributions to the Folts Homes Foundation.
