ILION - Violet Noyes, 88, of Falls Court, E. Monroe St., Little Falls, NY, formerly of Ilion, passed away on Thursday, October 7, 2010, at Little Falls Hospital. She was born on September 5, 1922, in Utica, the daughter of Earl and Katherine (Cullen) Hughes and graduated from Utica Free Academy. On March 23, 1946 she was married to Floyd "Doc" Noyes at Holy Cross Church, Utica. He died on December 19, 2004. Violet was employed at Savage Arms, Utica Mutual Insurance Co., Mutual of Omaha, Rush Furniture and most recently was a Bookkeeper at Manning Electrical Co., retiring in 1974. Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Keith and Barbara Noyes, of St. Petersburg, Fl, Stephen and Barbara Noyes, of Mohawk, and Gary and Althea Noyes, of Little Falls; her grandson, Brian Noyes, of St. Petersburg, FL; her granddaughter, Erin Noyes, of Little Falls; her sister, Dorothy Montesano, of Utica; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband; and three brothers, Edwin Hughes, in 1992, Art Hughes, in 1993 and Leland Hughes, in 1991. In keeping with Violet's wishes, there are no scheduled Funeral Services or calling hours. Violet's family would like to offer a special thanks to Little Falls Hospital (3rd. floor staff), Dr. Freund, Dr. Grace and the Little Falls Ambulance Crew for the care and compassion shown to her.
