Obituary of Harold Ostrom

Mr. Harold E. "Bud" Ostrom 72 of 8 Rundell Street Dolgeville, died Sunday May 29, 2011 at his residence of natural causes. He was born in Little Falls on March 2, 1939 the son of Harold and Lillian (Lein) Ostrom and was a graduate of Dolgeville High School. He furthered his education by graduating from Paul Smiths College with an Associate degree. Bud as he was known, was employed by the New York State Thruway, as a toll collector retiring from there in 2001. Bud was a collector of sports memorabilia, including baseball cards, signed pictures of ball players, baseballs, coins and other favorite objects. He was an avid outdoors man, especially as a fisherman, and a hunter. He was a life member of the Salisbury Ridge Runners Snowmobile Club, the Dolgeville Rod and Gun Club, a past member of the Dolgeville Fire Department, and a member of the Exempt Benevolent Fireman's association. He is survived by his companion Kathy Herringshaw and her son Jaime Herringshaw and her grandson Brock Herringshaw all of Dolgeville, a Sister and brother in law Barbara and Robert Albrecht of Little Falls, two Nieces Molly and Kathryn Albrecht and a nephew John Albrecht and several cousins, along with a canine companion "Bobbi". In addition he has many friends at Dopps Inn and Arthur's. He was predeceased by a sister Kathryn Moynihan on October 28, 2010. Funeral services will be held on Thursday June 2, 2011 at 11 AM at the Roberts & Enea Funeral Home 3 Faville Avenue Dolgeville. Friends may call on Thursday morning from 9AM until the time of the service. Burial will follow in Rural Park Cemetery, Inghams Mills.
