Osley 87 of 15 Southern Avenue Little Falls, died Friday evening June 9th, 2006 in Little Falls Hospital after a short illness. A native of Little Falls, she was born on November 20, 1918 the daughter of Stefan and Elizabeth Vdoviak Osley and was a graduate of Little Falls High School class of 1936. She also continued her education while working at Allegro Shoe Company by taking courses at the Utica School of Commerce. Miss Osley was a 30 year employee of the General Electric Company of Utica retiring from there in 1984. For many years, she was very active in SOKOL, the Slovak-American gymnastic organization. As an athlete, she was scheduled to participate in the SOKOL International slet (Competition) in Prague in 1938, but was obligated to cancel her travel plans due to impending war concerns. She continued as a gymnastic instructor through the 1950?s at the SOKOL Hall on Flint Avenue, and traveled with her students to competitions in the Northeast. As late as the 1960?s she continued to perform gymnastic routines on the pommel horse and the high rings at evening classes at the old high school. A life time member of Holy Trinity (Solvak) Lutheran Church, she was for many years a member of the choir, served as organist during WW II, and ferried members of the Lutheran League to weekend conventions. As a treasured Aunt, she spent countless hours and days with her nieces and nephews, frequently using vacation days to ferry a carload of them to summer outings at Pine Lake, Caroga Lake, hikes up Kane Mountain, and hunts for Little Falls diamonds. More recently, her nieces and nephews have continued to visit her, bringing their children and grandchildren to enjoy her lively company. She is survived by a Brother Daniel and his wife Jessie Osley of Ft. Plain, nieces and their husbands Karen and Carl Rogeberg of Oslo, Norway; Martha and O. Don Lee of Dolgeville, Michele Briscoe of Rochester, Lynn and Mark Rosen of West Hartford, CT, nephews S. Michael Osley of New York City, and Robert Osley of Ft. Plain. She was predeceased by her brothers Stephen in 1984, Dusan ?Dutch? in 2001 and John in 2004. Private services were held on Monday June 12, 2006 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Little Falls. Rev. Carl Evans pastor of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church offered committal services. There were NO calling hours. Miss Osley may be remembered with a memorial to the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Little Falls, NY. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Roberts &amp; Enea Family Funeral; Home 3 Faville Avenue Dolgeville.</p>
