Obituary of Arthur Strail

<p>ILION-Mr. Arthur M. "Mickey" Strail, age 70, of West Clark St., Ilion, went to be with the Lord suddenly on Wednesday morning, June 29, 2011 in his home due to heart complications. He was born in Utica on April 6, 1941, son of the late Arthur and Dorothy (Riordon) Strail. Mickey was raised by Agnes DeLude and her husband and educated in Ilion schools. He was united in marriage with Angeline T. Enea on May 1, 1965 in Annunciation Church, Ilion; a blessed union of 46 years. He was employed for many years by Marcy State Hospital and lastly with Birnie Bus Company as a bus driver. He was a communicant of the Church of the Annunciation, Ilion. Micky was very active and belonged to Ilion Moose Lodge #1010, serving as past president, Masonic Lodge of Utica, NY (32nd degree Freemason), Sons of Italy (Utica, NY), and was formerly a member of the Shriners and the Ilion Knights of Columbus. Because of his wonderful personality and out going nature, Mickey made many friends throughout his life. He loved being with people and will be missed by many. Mickey enjoyed sports, especially basketball and football. In his spare time he enjoyed gardening, fishing and being on the computer. Survivors include his devoted family; his wife Angie at home; his children: Erik Strail of Ilion and Scott Schneider and wife Mary of Ashville, NC; a sister: Jackie Primmar and husband Charles of Ilion; in laws: Jules Enea and wife Ginny of Ilion; nieces: Joan, Stephanie, Lisa and Julie; his adored granddog: Cookie; many cousins and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his foster brother, Bill DeLude, and by in laws: Ascanio and Grace Enea, and cousin Jerry Hosel. The family will receive relatives and friends at the funeral home on Friday, July 1, 2011 from 5-8 p.m. Mickey's funeral will commence at 12:45 p.m. at the funeral home on Sat., July 2nd where prayer will be offered and at 1:30 p.m. from the Church of the Annunciation, Ilion, where the Very Rev. Anthony Barratt, pastor will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial, assisted by Deacon James Bower. Kindly consider memorial offerings to the Herkimer County Humane Society; envelopes may be obtained at the funeral home. Private interment will take place in Armory Hill Cemetery, Ilion. The following organizations will conduct services on Friday evening at the funeral home: The Ilion Moose Lodge #1010 at 5:30 p.m., the Ilion Knights of Columbus at 6:00 p.m. and the Utica Masonic Lodge at 7:00 p.m. The family is being served by Funeral Director, Daniel J. Enea. </p>
