<b>Visitations</b> <p>The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday February 9,2010 from 4-8pm at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 9 Center St., St. Johnsville.</p> <b>Services</b> <p>His Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at 10am at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church (formerly St. Patrick's).</p> <b>Cemetery</b> <p>Interment will take place in the spring at St. Johnsville Cemetery.</p> <b>Obituary</b> <p>ST. JOHNSVILLE- Mr. Constantine J. (Cuss) Terricola, 90, of St. Johnsville, NY passed away on Saturday, February 6, 2010 at the St. Johnsville Nursing Home. CJ was born on May 4, 1919 in St. Johnsville, the son of the late Graziano and Romilda (Giovampietro) Terricola. He was a graduate of the St. Johnsville High School, Class of 1938, and a lifetime resident of St. Johnsville. A veteran of World War II, CJ served with the Ninth Division, 84th Field Artillery, Headquarter Batter as a Tech 5 from January, 1942 until his honorable discharge in October, 1945. He engaged in heavy fighting in major battles in Algeria, French Morocco, Tunisia, Sicily, Normandy, and Northern France, Ardennes, Central Europe, and Rhineland. CJ was the recipient of a Bronze Star, Service Medals, Conduct, African Middle Eastern Medal and earned 8 Battle Stars. CJ was a lifetime member of the Ninth Division Association and attended yearly reunions and conventions held in major cities. The members of the organization traveled with their wives to Europe to commemorate the 25th anniversary of WW II, visiting the many battle grounds where they fought and visiting the American cemeteries to pay respect to their comrades that were killed in action during the war. After his discharge, CJ returned to St. Johnsville and in March 1946, he purchased the former Samuel's Clothing Store on Main St. He operated Terricola's Clothing Store with his wife for 38 years retiring in 1984. CJ was united in marriage to his wife of 54 years, the former Lena P. Barca, on April 17, 1955 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, St. Johnsville with the Rev. Joseph Reger officiating. CJ was active in community projects and services throughout his lifetime. He was also active in village, town, and county politics. He was a member of the Democratic Party and served as Committeeman for many years. He was elected to the St. Johnsville Town Board as Councilman, serving for 20 years until his retirement. CJ was a lifetime member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, serving as usher for many years. He was also a member of the St. Johnsville American Legion Post 168, Fort Plain Order of the Knights of Columbus and the Fort Plain VFW 3275. He served on the Board of Directors for SAVAC, St. Johnsville Housing Authority, Retail Merchants Association and on the St. Johnsville Cemetery Board. CJ was an avid golfer and scored a "Hole in One" at Nick Stoner Golf Course, Caraga Lake, NY. In retirement, he enjoyed spending winters in Florida, traveling to Europe, and traveling to visit his children in TX, FL, and CA. Besides his wife, Lena, he leaves a daughter Constance Terricola, San Ramon, CA; a son Terence Terricola, Lake Worth, FL; a grandson, Derek Terricola; a granddaughter, Aria Terricola; a brother, Philip Terricola and wife Josephine; nieces : Phyllis (Terricola) Johnson and husband Don, Little Falls; Linda Terricola, Amsterdam; Andrea (Barca) Greene and husband Paul, Little Falls; a nephew: Peter Barca and wife Carol, Canajoharie, NY; great nieces : Wendy Johnson, Boston, MA, Danielle Barca, Clifton Park, NY, Paulena Greene, Little Falls, NY; and great nephew Troy Barca, US Navy stationed at Norfolk, VA, 12 godchildren and many cousins. Besides his parents, CJ was predeceased by a brother, Terenzio Terricola. CJ was a self made businessman, well known in the community for his generosity over the years. CJ will not only be missed by his family, but also by all who knew him. He was a caring and devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. The family would like to express their thanks and appreciation to the St. Johnsville Nursing Home Staff for CJ's compassionate care. The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday February 9,2010 from 4-8pm at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 9 Center St. , St. Johnsville. His Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at 10am at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church ( formerly St. Patrick's).Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Johnsville American Legion or the Fort Plain VFW.
