Obituary of Myrtle Urtz

ILION-NEW YORK MILLS - Myrtle Jane Urtz, age 89, of New York Mills, formerly of Ilion, passed away on Saturday, August 6, 2011, at LutheranCare, in Clinton. She was born on August 22, 1921, in Hopkinton, NY, the daughter of Earl and Dora Votra Farmer. On January 15, 1946, Myrtle was married to Joseph F. Urtz, in Hartford, CT. She was a member of the Church of the Annunciation and a former member of the Ilion Home Bureau. Myrtle loved spending time with her family. Survivors include her husband, Joe; her daughters and sons-in-law, Joanne and Robert Privitera, of Mt. Morris, NY, and Patricia and Frank Maggiolino, of Whitesboro; her son and daughter-in-law, Brett and Debra Urtz, of Mohawk; seven grandchildren, Kelly Lonis, of Syracuse, NY, David Lonis, of Washington, DC, Peter Privitera and wife Sara, of Mt. Morris, NY, Julie Privitera, of Orlando, FL, Robert Privitera, of Orlando, FL, Heather Urtz, of Mohawk, NY, and Justin Urtz, of Ilion, NY; three great-grandchildren, Maddox Dane Lonis, Avery Jayne Privitera and Reece Alexander Urtz; her sister, Wanda Farmer, of Mohawk; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by five brothers, Claude, Walter, Ray, Bill and Frank Farmer; and one sister, Marjorie Tebo. Funeral services will be held 9:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 10, 2011, at the Applegate-Day & Enea Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Rd. (Main St.), Ilion, and 10:00 a.m., at the Church of the Annunciation, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Leo Potvin, assisted by Deacon James Bower. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Frankfort. Calling hours are Tuesday, August 9, 2011, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., at the Applegate-Day & Enea Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Rd. (Main St.), Ilion. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made to the Church of the Annunciation or American Heart Association. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. The Urtz family has entrusted all funeral arrangements and supervision to their family Funeral Director, Don Applegate.
