Obituary of Patricia Waterbury

SCHUYLER-Mrs. Patricia Ann Mankouski-Waterbury, 72, passed away unexpectedly on February 6, 2011 in St. Luke's Hospital. Her loving family was at her side at the time of her passing. Patty was born in Herkimer Memorial Hospital on May 18, 1938. She was born to Elva (Peggy) and Leslie Tallman of Newport, NY. She attended West Canada Valley School, graduating with the Class of 1957. On June 14, 1997, Patty married Ernest "Ernie" Waterbury in Newport, NY. Her most recent employment was with ARC of Oneida/Lewis Counties. Patty was of the Catholic faith. She was a member of many community organizations, including the Mohawk Valley Professional Women's Organization (Past President), Court Reardon Catholic Daughters, American Legion Auxiliary #1524 (Past President), and the Newport Fire Department. She was an EMT for eleven years for the KVAC Ambulance Corps. Patty is survived by her beloved husband of fourteen years, Ernie Waterbury of W. Schuyler, and "Snowball the cat," her daughters, Donna and Jack Harrington, Stephanie and Brian Harrington, and Susan and Mike Shea, and a son, Todd and Laurie Mankouski. She also leaves her stepsons, Randy and Robert Waterbury, her many grandchildren, Alyssa, Nora, Bethany, Jacob, Joshua, Travis, Chase, Jeremiah, Mikey, Katelyn, Carly, and Chloe, great-grandchildren, Jaeden and Aloura, a sister, Joan and Jack Farrell, her brother, Gene and Joan Tallman, the father of her children, Stephen Mankouski, and many nieces, nephews and dear friends. Patty was known to all as a very kind, caring, and generous person, at all times willing to lend a helping hand. She was gifted with many talents, sewing, crafting, needlepoint, and gardening, just to mention a few of her many loves and interests. Relatives and friends may pay their respects on Friday, February 11, 2011 from 9-11 am at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Road, between Ilion and Frankfort (894-8000). The Catholic Daughters of Newport will conduct their service at 10 am and the Newport American Legion Auxiliary will conduct theirs at 10:30. Patty's funeral will commence at 11 am at the funeral home, also on Friday, officiated by her long-time friend, the Reverend Leo Potvin. She will be interred in the spring at Newport Cemetery. Patty's family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff of the ICU at St. Luke's Hospital.
