<p>Mr. John "Jack" Anson Walker 83 of 1955 County Highway 119 Stratford, passed away peacefully at his home Thursday evening August 12, 2010 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Dolgeville on June 20, 1927 the son of John and Anna (McEvoy) Walker. He attended Dolgeville schools. A veteran of WW II he served honorably in the United States Navy from January 1945 until his discharge on July 7, 1946 at the rank of 3rd Class. He earned the following medals the Victory Medal, American Theatre Medal and the Asiatic Pacific Medal. His marriage to the former Carolyn E. Aubin took place on January 27, 1951 in Dolgeville. They celebrated 59 years of marriage this past year. "Jack" as he was known, was employed by the former Chicago Pneumatic Tool Company of Utica for many years, and prior to his retirement he was employed by the Herkimer County BOCES as a custodian. He was a former member of the General J.P. Spofford Hose Company #2 of Dolgeville, and his personal interests were in his family, hunting, fishing, trapping and gardening. He was of the Catholic faith. He will be greatly missed. He is survived by his devoted wife Carolyn of nearly 60 years, his daughters and their husbands, Gail and James Saracino, Karen and David Collis, Brenda Bouchard, Janet and Barry Vickers and Laura Walker, his son Brian and his wife Patricia Walker, 13 Grandchildren, 8 Great Grandchildren, a Sister and her husband Patricia and John McEvoy. He was predeceased by a Sister Jean Vanderbilt. Private funeral services were held at the Roberts &amp; Enea Funeral Home 3 Faville Avenue Dolgeville at the convenience of the family. There were NO Calling hours.
