Young, age 70, of Richfield Hill Rd., West Winfield, NY, passed away on Thursday, May 28, 2009, at Bassett Healthcare, Cooperstown. She was born on November 29, 1938, in Town of Winfield, the daughter of Merton and Helen Jones, and graduated from West Winfield High School in 1956. On August 24, 1957, Shirley was married to John W. Young in the Town of Columbia. She was a homemaker and a seamstress for many years. Shirley was a member of the Millers Mills Community Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, John "Jack"; five daughters, Jody Drake and her husband, Don, of West Winfield, Jackie Johnson and Ron, of Herkimer, Jeri Hull, of West Winfield, Julie Young, of Phoenix, AZ, and Jennifer Young, of Richfield Springs; 15 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents and her brother, William Jones. Friends and relatives are invited to attend Shirleys memorial service on Sunday, May 31, 2009, at 2 p.m. at the Millers Mills Community Baptist Church, Millers Mills, NY, with Pastor Ed Woodworth officiating. There are no public calling hours. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made to the Millers Mills Community Baptist Church or the Cedarville Fire Dept. Envelopes will be available at the memorial service. The Young family has entrusted all arrangements to Applegate-Day &amp; Enea Family Funeral Home, 102 West St., Ilion, Don Applegate, Funeral Director.</p>
