(Edwards) Zweifel, age 84, most recently of Litchfield St., Frankfort, formerly of Clark Mills and New Hartford, passed away Tuesday morning, April 17, 2007, at the Presbyterian Home, New Hartford. Dorothy was born November 23, 1922 in Utica, daughter of the late Arnold T. and Nora (White) Edwards. She attended Chadwicks Union and Sauquoit Valley Schools. At one time she was married to Milo Jones, the father of her children. Dorothy later married William E. "Bill" Zweifel on October 4, 1957 in Pennsylvania. They shared a dedicated 38 year union until Bill's passing December 17, 1995. Primarily a devoted homemaker, wife, and mother, at one time she was employed by the Utica Mutual Insurance Co. Dorothy loved the St. Lawrence River, spending weekends and vacations on the river with her husband, Bill and family. She always remained close to her beloved brothers and sisters who affectionately called her "Dot". Dorothy was of the Roman Catholic faith and a parishioner at Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church, Frankfort. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Robert T. and Michelle "Mickey" Jones of Vernon; one daughter, Barbara Williams of Rome; her cherished grandchildren, Todd Jones and his wife, Robin, Robin Shafer and her husband, Joe, all of Westmoreland, and Marzel Williams of Rome; three great-granddaughters, Josie, Tess, and Marley Shafer; three sisters and one brother-in-law, Marion Edwards and Charlotte Day, both of Ilion, and Shirley and Glenn Rieben of New Hartford and FL; one sister-in-law, Gertrude Edwards of FL; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, Bill; her beloved son, Richard "Dick" Jones; son-in-law, Joseph L. Williams; three brothers, Billy, Stewart, and Robert Edwards; and brother-in-law, Jack Day. Dorothy's funeral service will be held Saturday, April 21, 2007, commencing at 11:15 a.m. at the Applegate &amp; Day Funeral Home, 102 West St., Ilion, and 12 noon at Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church, Frankfort, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father John Yanas, Pastor. Interment in St. Mary's Cemetery, Clinton will take place at a later date and time to be announced. Family and friends are invited to visitation Saturday from 10 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. at the Applegate &amp; Day Funeral Home, Ilion, prior to the funeral service. Those wishing to do so may consider memorial contributions in Dorothy's name to Our Lady Queen of the Apostles Church. Donation envelopes will be available at the funeral home or church.</p>
