Elizabeth (Betty) J. Kraft, age 78, a longtime Ilion-Frankfort resident, passed away on Sunday, October 23, 2011 at home. She had the love and comfort of her husband and family by her side at the time of her passing. She was born in St. Johnsville on September 1, 1933, the daughter of the late Charles and Mary (Bannon) Cunningham. She graduated from St. Johnsville High School in 1950 and worked for many years in housekeeping at Mohawk Valley General Hospital in Ilion. On December 5, 1953, Betty was married to Edward J. Kraft at St. Patrick's Church in St. Johnsville, sharing 57 years of happiness, companionship, fun and laughter. Betty loved gardening, tending to her flowers and vegetables. She had a great admiration for the outdoors, picking berries with her children, nature walks with her husband, and watching birds. She was a member of the Ilion American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and attended St. Patrick's Church in St. Johnsville. Survivors include her beloved husband, Ed of Ilion; sons, Harry Kraft of Frankfort, Dan Kraft and wife Shirley of Gloversville; a daughter, Linda Willoughby and husband Robert of Ilion, grandsons, Zebulon and Jesse Willoughby; a brother James Cunningham; a sister Rosemary Bonk; sister-in -laws, Lucy Cunningham and Martha Lamanna, brother-in-law, Lowell Kraft; nieces, nephews and cousins. She is predeceased by a daughter, Veronica Kraft; a son, Charles Kraft; a brother, William Cunningham and a sister, Margaret Polidori. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 27, 2011 at the Enea Family Funeral Home, (Harry, Kevin and Daniel Enea-Directors) 4309 Acme Rd. (Town of Frankfort) Ilion, NY, 315-894-8000, officiated by the Reverend Leo Potvin. Procession will follow to Armory Hill Cemetery, Ilion where Betty will be laid to rest next to daughter and son. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, October 26, 2011 from 5-7 p.m. and also, Thursday morning from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service.
