Obituary of Elizabeth Neale

St. Johnsville: Mrs. Elizabeth J. Neale, 89, of Allen Road, passed away on Tuesday, October 25, 2011 at St. Johnsville Rehabilitation & Nursing Center, with her loving family at her side. She was born on October 22, 1922 in St. Johnsville, daughter of the late Henry and Beulah (Hayes) Sanders. She was a graduate of St. Johnsville High School. On June 25, 1983 she was united in marriage with Francis "Stub" Neale. Their loving union lasted 19 years until his passing on December 7, 2002. Elizabeth was a long time employee of Beech-Nut in Canajoharie, working in Shipping and Receiving. She worked in Washington, D.C. at the Pentagon during WWII. She also worked at Palatine Dye, Life Savers, Daniel Green, as well as being a nurse and owning her own farm on Kennedy Road. After she retired from Beech-Nut, she still had time to work in the cafeteria at the David Robbins School in St. Johnsville. Elizabeth loved gardening, reading, and camping. She also enjoyed traveling. She leaves behind her furry companion, Scotty. Survivors include her son, Robert Lyons and his wife Shelly of St. Johnsville; her daughters, Linda Passero of Johnstown and Elizabeth Race and her companion Joseph Hudson of Oppenheim; her 12 grandchildren and her 8 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her daughter, Marilyn Jane White, who passed away in 2001. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 9 Center Street, St. Johnsville from 6-8 pm on Friday, October 28, 2011. The family will gather at the West St. Johnsville Cemetery at 1 pm on Saturday, October 29, 2011 where a religious service will be held with the Rev. Hans Drews officiating.
