Obituary of John A Vallese

Herkimer: Mr. John A. "Jack" Vallese, 77, of West Lake Avenue, passed away at home on Thursday, October 27, 2011. Jack was born on November 4, 1933 in Herkimer, son of the late Marino and Antoinette Vallese. He was a graduate of Herkimer High School, and then served in the United States Army. On October 14, 1961, he and Elinor J. Prince were married by the Rev. Purificato in St. Anthony's Church, Herkimer. Jack was a Herkimer fireman, and at one time, was employed by Montgomery Wards. He was a member of Sts. Anthony & Joseph Church, the Herkimer VFW, Elks, E. Herkimer Fish & Game Club, and the Polish Community Home. Jack is survived by his wife, Elinor; son, Mark; a sister Phyllis Vallese; an aunt, Elvira Vallese; and cousins, JoAnna Sementilli and family, Phillip Vallese and family, Louise Franchi and family, Sam Celi and family; along with many other cousins and special friends. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects on Sunday, October 30, 2011 from 4-7 pm at the Enea Family Funeral Home (Harry, Kevin and Dan), 220 N. Washington Street, Herkimer (866-1011). Jack's funeral will commence on Monday, October 31, 2011 with prayer at 9am at the funeral home. His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Thomas Lawless, Pastor, at 9:30 am in Sts. Anthony & Joseph Church, S. Main Street, Herkimer. We will then process to Calvary Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest. The Herkimer Elks Lodge will conduct their ritualistic service at 6 pm and Michael Pliseck Vfw Post 4915 will conduct their service at 6:30 pm. Donations in Jack's memory may be made to a charity of one's choice; a selection of envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
