MOHAWK-Evelyn Rose (Case) Eramo, age 92, of Mohawk passed away peacefully on October 31, 2011 at Valley Health Services. Evelyn was born on April 27, 1919 in Frankfort, New York and was married to Peter Eramo until his death on October 25, 1987. Evelyn worked locally at Munger's Department Store and the Top Hat Restaurant for many years. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who led a simple life centered around her family. Evelyn is survived by one son, Peter Eramo and his wife Anne of Mohawk; her grandchildren, Lisa Eramo and her partner Melany Tromba of Cranston, Rhode Island; Julie Eramo of San Diego, California; and Michael Eramo of Oneonta, New York. She is also survived by a step-son, John Eramo of Little Falls; and several nieces and nephews. Evelyn was predeceased by her sisters Corliss Case, Susan Slater, Audrey Decker, and Arloene Dorn; one brother Earle Case; and a step daughter, Verna Ashley. The family would like to sincerely thank the entire staff at Valley Health Services for making Evelyn's final years comfortable and happy. In keeping with Evelyn's wishes, there will be no calling hours. Services will take place at the convenience of the family at Calvary Cemetery, Herkimer.
