Obituary of G Annette Butler

MOHAWK-Mrs. G. Annette (Daly) Butler, age 88 a lifelong Mohawk resident passed away peacefully Saturday, November 5, 2011 at Valley Health Services, Herkimer. She was born in Mohawk on November 15, 1922, daughter of the late James and Catherine (Enright) Daly and educated in Mohawk schools. She was united in marriage to Earl T. Hilts who passed away on May 21, 1951 and then united in marriage Leon T. Butler on February 14, 1953; a blessed union of 50 years until Mr. Butler's passing on December 5, 2003. She was last employed as a bank officer with the former Oneida National Bank and served formerly as treasurer of the Mohawk Homestead. In her spare time, she enjoyed playing bridge. Survivors include her daughter, Vicki A. Hilts of Mohawk; her grandchildren, Troy Hilts and wife Christina of Gansevoort, Kimberly Robbins and husband Matt of Clifton Park; great grandchildren, Blake, Jacob and Jayden; a daughter in law, Mae Hilts of Clifton Park; a brother, Robert J. Daly and wife Dorothy of Ilion; a brother in law, Robert Miers and wife Mary of Mohawk; many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by a son, Earl "Ted" Hilts on Jan. 27, 2010 and by one brother and two sisters. Funeral service will take place on Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at 10:15 am from the Enea Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Rd., between Ilion and Frankfort, 894-8000 where prayer will be offered and at 11 am from Blessed Sacrament Church, Mohawk with the Rev. Mark Cunningham, sacramental minister officiating assisted by Sister Mary Jo Tallman, parish life director. Procession will follow to Mohawk Cemetery where she will be laid to rest. Relatives and friends may pay their respects at the funeral home on Tuesday morning from 9:15 until 10:15 am prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, kindly consider memorial offerings to the Mohawk Homestead. The family offers their gratitude to those healthcare providers who took wonderful care of Annette including those at the Mohawk Homestead and at Valley Health Services, Herkimer. The family is being served by Funeral Director, Daniel J. Enea.
