Obituary of Carol Zabielski

ST. JOHNSVILLE- Carol Zabielski, 61, formerly of St. Johnsville and Herkimer, passed away on November 18, 2011 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Utica. She was born on January 24, 1950, in Schenectady, daughter of the late Francis and Hilda (Young) Zabielski. Carol graduated from Scotia-Glenville High School in 1968. She also attended Cranes School of Music in Potsdam. She was a Registered Nurse at Upstate Cerebral Palsy in Utica. Carol was very active in the Herkimer Pentecostal Church. She was a pianist there for several years. She would put on shows and Christian musicals. She loved her job at Utica Cerebral Palsy working with children. She also would make gifts and take photos of the kids at the prom, and cheer them on at various games. Carol was a very talented and creative individual. She was extremely fond of her cats. Survivors include her aunts: Dorothy Zabielski and Helen Kosinski of Scotia and two other aunts on her mother's side that live on Long Island; several cousins and her dear friends Juanita and Keith Handy with whom she lived with for many years and was considered a family member. Relatives and friends may pay their respects at Keith and Juanita Handy's residence at 192 Crum Creek Rd, St. Johnsville on Sunday, November 20, 2011 starting at 1pm. A religious service will be held at the Handy residence on Monday, November 21, 2011 at 12pm. Funeral procession will proceed to Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery, 2150 Central Ave., Schenectady where she will be laid to rest alongside her mother and father. The family is being cared for by the Enea Family Funeral Home, 9 Center St., St. Johnsville, NY, John P. Lewandowski, Funeral Director. .
