SCHUYLER: Helen R. Harrison, age 79, of Schuyler, NY, passed away on Friday, November 18, 2011 at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare, New Hartford. She was born December 16, 1931 in Bay Shore, NY, the daughter of the late Arthur and Helen Elizabeth (Frey) Peterson. She was married to Joseph H. Harrison on July 1, 1950 on Long Island and the couple had resided in Schuyler since 2005. For several years the couple enjoyed returning to their hometown, but had a great admiration for the Mohawk Valley. Helen had been employed for the Mt. Markham School District and had attended the East Schuyler United Methodist Church. She is survived by her beloved husband, Joseph; daughters, Pat Vail and husband Terry of Frankfort; Diane Couch of East Quogue, NY; six grand children; seven great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She is also survived by a sister-in law and a brother-in-law. Helen was predeceased by a daughter, Sherrie Nichols. Friends and relatives are invited to attend calling hours and share memories of Helen on Monday, November 21, 2011 from 5-7 p.m. at the Enea Family Funeral Home (Harry, Kevin and Daniel Enea-Directors), 4309 Acme Rd., Ilion (Town of Frankfort). Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family at East Schuyler Cemetery at a later date.
