Obituary of David Failing

ST. JOHNSVILLE- Mr. David M. Failing, 94, resident of St. Johnsville Rehabilitation and Nursing Center and formerly of Kringsbush Rd. passed away peacefully on November 19, 2011 at the Nursing Home with his loving family at his side. He was born on November 3, 1917, in St. Johnsville, son of the late Aaron and Lina (Cool) Failing. On May 27, 1944 he was united in marriage with Leda Graudons. Their loving union lasted 62 years until her passing on March 16, 2007. Family and farming meant everything to David. He absolutely enjoyed being with his family and being in the barn and on the tractor with his children and grandchildren. He is finally being reunited with his loving wife. Survivors include his children: Diane Hoffman and her husband Alan of Marlborough, CT, David Failing and his wife Peg of Deerfield, NY, Duane Failing of Wilmington, DE and Elizabeth Cabanas of St. Johnsville; his grandchildren: Mark Hoffman and his wife Bonnie, Melanie Rodrigues and her husband Josh, Matthew Hoffman and his fiancé Keri, Cinthia Cabanas, Jason Cabanas, Ian Failing and his wife Anna, Hannah Gitschier and her husband Josh and Emelia Failing and his great grandchildren: Zachary, Keenan and Jeremy Rodrigues and Aiden Hoffman. He was predeceased by his son Richard Failing, his brother Kenneth Failing and his daughter in law Carol Failing. The family will receive relatives and friends at The Enea Family Funeral Home, 9 Center St., St. Johnsville from 12pm- 2pm on Saturday, November 26, 2011. A religious service will be held at the conclusion of calling hours with the Rev. David A. Johnson officiating. Procession will follow to St. Johnsville Cemetery where he will be laid to rest alongside his wife Leda. The family wishes to thank the staff of St. Johnsville Rehabilitation and Nursing Center for the loving care and attention they gave to David during his stay there. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations in David's name be made to the Nursing Home. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. The family is being cared for by John P. Lewandowski, Funeral Director.
