Obituary of Patricia Carter

OPPENHEIM/ ST. JOHNSVILLE- Patricia "Pat" Jean Carter, 59, of Oppenheim, passed away on November 25, 2011 at Bassett Healthcare in Cooperstown. She was born on July 7th, 1952, in Little Falls, NY, to Milton Wood, who died in the Korean War on August 30th, 1952, and the late Lucille Seeley (Wood, Bowers). Pat graduated from Oppenheim-Ephratah Central School in 1971. She married Roger Carter on November 23rd, 1974 in St. Johnsville, NY, and they lived together in Oppenheim, NY. Pat was a Certified Nurses Aid at the Palatine Nursing home for over 20 years, and was passionate about making a difference in the lives of her residents. Pat loved to garden, take care of her home, and spend time with her family along with her beloved cats, Snowflake and Gizzy. Pat is survived by her husband Roger; her three children: Paula Carter, of Herkimer, NY; Polly Becker and fiance Clinton Saltsman, of St. Johnsville, NY; and Terry Carter, of St. Johnsville, NY. She also is survived by her grandchildren David Becker and Ryan Becker of St. Johnsville NY; one sister, Connie Bowers of Utica, NY; two brothers, Cy Bowers of Selkirk, NY, and Christopher Wood of Amsterdam, NY; mother-in-law Edna Carter of St. Johnsville, NY, along with several nieces and nephews. She was preceded by her step-father, Cyrus "Dan" Bowers, son-in-law Raymond G. Becker Jr., and grandson, Ethan Becker. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made in the name of Ethan Becker to the American SIDS Institute. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. The family will receive relatives and friends from 6pm-8pm on Tuesday, December 6, 2011, at the Enea Family Funeral Home , 9 Center Street, St. Johnsville, NY.
