Marie Terese was born on May 2, 1926 in Little Falls, a daughter of the late Charles F. and Marie (Feeney) Kelly. Ms. Kelly received a Bachelor's Degree from Utica College and a Master's from Syracuse University. Ms. Kelly's lifelong career was as a Social Worker with New York State, Oneida and Herkimer Counties. She set up the first State Client Office of Family Services in Herkimer County. Marie Terese was a communicant of Holy Family Parish, and did much volunteer work for her church as a Eucharistic Minister and Religious Education instructor. She was a member of the Women's Army Corps during the Korean War and the Little Falls Historical Society. Ms. Kelly is survived by a brother, John C. Kelly of California; a sister, Ellen Armstrong and her husband William of Cooperstown; and brothers, Nicholas Kelly of Herkimer and Charles F. In keeping with Marie Terese's wishes, there are no calling hours; however, relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, December 3, 2011, celebrated by the Reverend Thomas Lawless, at 11 am in Holy Family Parish Church, E. Main Street, Little Falls. She will then be interred in the family plot at St. Mary's Cemetery, Little Falls (town of Herkimer). The family would like to thank the staff of the first floor at Folts Healthcare Center for their outstanding personal care, kindness, compassion, and professionalism.
