Obituary of Carmen Denicola

ILION: Carmen A. Denicola, age 59, a longtime Ilion resident, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, December 12, 2011 at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare. Carmen was born in Watertown, NY on April 22, 1952, the son of the late Carmen and Dorothy (Manning) Denicola. He was a 1971 graduate of Camden High School and attended Utica School of Commerce. On October 5, 1974 he married Susan DiTullio at Sacred Heart Church in Massena, NY. Carmen was presently the owner and operator of Denicola Easy Living located in Ilion and at one time was employed at Woods Tires in Herkimer. He was a member of the Church of the Annunciation and was very active and co-chaired the Christmas in Ilion Program. He is survived by his beloved wife, Susan; his sons, Darren and wife Jill, Jason and Rebecca and Adam and wife Patricia all of Ilion; grandchildren, Lizabeth, Patrick, Matthew, Gianna and Benjamin; brothers, Albert and wife Helen of Broadalbin, NY, Joseph and wife Barbara of Orlando, FL, Anthony and wife Cheryl of Oklahoma and Ralph and wife Pam of Jacksonville, FL; his mother-in-law, Eileen DiTullio of Massena; several in-laws, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Carmen was predeceased by his brothers, Vincent and Domenick Denicola and a sister, Marie Youmans. Friends and relatives are invited to attend a Memorial Mass on Monday, December 19, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Annunciation Church, West Street, Ilion, NY which will be celebrated by The Very Rev. Anthony Barratt, assisted by Deacon James Bower. There will be no public calling hours. Those wishing to express an act of kindness in the form of memorial contributions may consider the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association in lieu of floral offerings. Envelopes will be available at the church. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Enea Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Rd., (Town of Frankfort) Ilion, NY (315)894-8000 and are under the direction of Harry J. Enea, Funeral Director.
