Obituary of Daniel Manchester

JOHNSTOWN/ OPPENHEIM- Mr. Daniel Manchester "FUJI", 64, passed away on January 1, 2012 at his residence. He was born on May 14, 1947, in Gloversville, son of Oscar Guy and Azubah (Crannell) Manchester. He was united in marriage with Claudia Brown on February 19, 1967 at St. John's Reformed Church in St. Johnsville. Their loving union lasted 30 years until her passing on November 16, 1997.Daniel was a proud veteran; serving in the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1968. He was employed at Simco Leather in Johnstown for many years. Daniel was a Jack of all Trades who "lived his life the way he wanted to live it". Survivors include: his mother Azubah Manchester; his children: Daniel Manchester and his wife Pam of Fultonville, Tim Manchester and his wife Felecia of Fort Plain and Tammy Baxter and her husband Phillip of Oppenheim; his grandchildren: Donald, Brandi, Craig, Tim Jr., Ashley, Corey, Nathan, Jenna C. and Cassie, his 19 Great grandchildren; his brothers: Richard Manchester and his wife Barb, Ralph Manchester and his wife Barb and James Manchester and his wife Betty; his sister Jeannette Alkinburgh and her significant other Bill and his nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his father Oscar and also by his brothers: Guy, Robert and Roger. In keeping with Daniel's wishes there are no calling hours. There will be an informal gathering on Saturday, January 7, 2012 at 1pm at the AM VETS, 990 State Hwy 163, Fort Plain, New York, 13339. The family is being cared for by the Enea Family Funeral Home, 9 Center St., St. Johnsville, John P. Lewandowski, Funeral Director.
