Obituary of Marjorie Hazzard

FORT PLAIN- Marjorie Catherine Hazzard, 68 entered into eternal rest on December 8,2009 at Faxton St. Lukes Hospital in Utica from complications of diabetes. She was born April 2,1941 in Canajoharie, the daughter of Blanche May Jones and Alfred Nelson Dygert. Marjorie attended Canajoharie Schools and was a lifelong area resident. She worked at child care and at Pizza Hut in Palatine Bridge for 10 years retiring in 1998. She was of Christian faith and taught Sunday School at Fordsbush Bible Church for about 20 years. She was united in marriage to Darwin J. Hazzard on November 30,1958 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Fort Plain with the Rev. Richard W. Reiger officiating. The couple recently celebrated their 51st anniversary. She is survived by her husband Darwin, her son Darwin Jr. and his girlfriend Tammy Anderson, her daughters Debra Reid and her husband Richard and Deanna. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, her sister Dorothy Groff and her brothers Jerry, Lester, Jack, Donald and Raymond Dygert and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her mother, father and her brother Robert Dygert. The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday December 12,2009 from 11am-12pm at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 24 West Monroe St. Little Falls. A religious service will be held immediately following the calling hours at 12pm with Pastor Kevin Keever officiating. Procession will follow to Freysbush Cemetery, Fort Plain where she will be laid to rest. In lieu of flowers please consider donations to Faxton St. Luke Healthcare Dialysis Unit in Utica, NY.
