Obituary of Robert Dinehart

HERKIMER-Mr. Robert Earl “Bob” Dinehart, 85, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 1, at Valley Health Services in Herkimer. Bob was born on June 12, 1924 in Lasselsville, New York, the son of the late Alice Cretser Dinehart, and George Dinehart. He was married to the former Ruby Colorito on February 9, 1946, a union that lasted until his beloved Ruby passed away March 15, 2001. In his early years, Bob worked on the railroad in the St.Johnsville, Canajoharie area. He then moved his family to Whittier, California in 1959, where he was employed by Bakers, and Confectioners Co. in Los Angeles until the family returned to Herkimer in June of 1968. He was then employed by Mohawk Data Sciences Corp. until his retirement in 1990. Bob was an avid hunter, and fisherman, and enjoyed camping with his wife, and children in the Adirondacks. Bob was of the Free Methodist faith. He is survived by three daughters, and three sons. Daughter Carol Kalem, and husband Carl, of Mohawk. Daughter Dolores Edick, and husband Ron, of Frankfort. And daughter Terri Mucitelli, and husband Arthur, of Mohawk. Son Robert Dinehart, and wife Debbie, of Stewartville, Minnesota. Son James, and companion Sheila Nunno, of Herkimer, and son Richard, and wife Dawn, of Queensbury, New York., and one sister, Mrs. Blanche Monk, of Lasselsville. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. Besides his Mother, and Father, and loving wife, Ruby, Bob is predeceased by a brother, Clinton Dinehart of Gloversville, a sister, Norma Bills of Lasselsville, and a great-granddaughter, Christina Marie Schloop of Newport. Calling hours at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 220 N. Washington St., Herkimer will be on Thursday, December 3, 2009 from 5-8 p.m. His funeral commence at 10 am on Friday, December 4th from the chapel of the funeral home with the Rev. Janet Gleason, of the First United Methodist Church, Herkimer officiating. Procession will follow to St. Johnsville Cemetery where he will be laid to rest with his wife. Bob’s family would like to offer heartfelt thanks to the staff at Valley Health Services, in Herkimer, for their acts of kindness, and care for Bob, and the family during his stay there. A very special thank you to nurses Marilyn Ploof, and Rose “Peaches” Lamphere, for their exceptional acts of kindness, and friendship shown to Bob while he was a resident there. The family is being served by funeral director, Daniel J. Enea.
