Obituary of Micah Prior

UNADILLA - Micah O. Prior, 31, of Unadilla, formerly of Mohawk, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2009, at Little Falls Hospital, Little Falls. He was born Dec. 20, 1977, in Watertown, the son of Ricky and Susan (Branagan) Prior. He attended Mohawk school and received his GED. On Aug. 8, 2006, he married Dana Benson in Clifton Park. Micah was a stay-at-home dad. He was a musician, enjoyed sports, movies, and making others laugh. He was a friend to everyone and loved being with his daughter, the "Light of his life." Survivors include his wife, Dana; his daughter, Teresa; one stepdaughter, Jenna; one stepson, Jesse; father and stepmother, Ricky and Ann Prior of Mohawk; mother and stepfather, Susan and Bill Auert of Oriskany Falls; one sister, Erin Prior of Oriskany Falls; grandparents, Noah and Shirley Prior of Watertown and Keith and Teresa Branagan of Black River; three brothers, Trevor Griffith of Mohawk; Mike Dihrberg of Ilion and Jason Dihrberg of Mohawk; three stepsisters, Amy Coolidge of Frankfort, Nicole and Jessica Cusworth of South Carolina; five stepbrothers, Jimmy Coolidge and his wife, Kristine of Hudson, Fla., Chris Coolidge of Hudson, Fla., John Cusworth Jr., of Utica, Marshall Cusworth of Pennsylvania, and Matthew Cusworth of South Carolina; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Deborah and Earl Eiland of Schoharie; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Thomas and Donna Benson of Melrose; sister-in-law, Stacy Cocilova and her husband, George of Florida; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, including special nephews, Jake and Josh Jaquish, Tyler Coolidge, and Mikey Eysaman Jr.; many special friends, including Steve Call of Florida, Dave Van Nort of Mohawk and Jason Monahan of Mohawk, favorite pet dogs, Luke and Leia. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 4, at Enea Family Funeral Home, 220 N. Washington St., Herkimer. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday prior to the service at the funeral home. The family has entrusted all arrangements to Don Applegate, funeral director, 315-895-7722.
