Obituary of Joseph Servello

HERKIMER-Mr. Joseph T. Servello, 81 of Steuben Road, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday morning, February 20, 2010 in his home. He was born on April 17, 1928, son of the late Vincenzo and Rose (Costantino) Servello and educated in Herkimer schools. On November 24, 1951 he was united in marriage with Joanne D’Amato in St. Joseph’s Church, Dolgeville. The couple has enjoyed a blessed union of 58 years. Joseph served his country with the United States Army. He was the owner and operator of Servello’s Produce, Herkimer for several years and attended Mt. Zion Ministries, Utica. Joseph was a Godly man that loved the Lord and his family more than anything else that this world could offer. He doesn't leave behind worldly wealth but a legacy of love. We loved Joe and will always remember him. I knew how much Jesus loves him and will give him an eternal reward for his life. Oh how we will miss him and his love. Survivors include his beloved family; his wife Joanne of Herkimer; his children: Anthony Servello and wife Deirdre of Herkimer, Pastor Michael Servello and wife Barbara of Herkimer and Judy Bach and husband Richard of Mohawk; a sister: Mary Mazzola of Herkimer; a brother: Samuel Servello and wife Rose of Herkimer; his cherished grandchildren: Michael Servello and wife Melissa, Joey Servello and wife Kelly, Rachel Daughtry and husband Matt, Anthony "AJ" Servello and fiance Libby McGrellis, Adam and Giovanni Servello; his adored great grandchildren: Giula, Daniella, Matthew, Abigail and Hudson; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Anthony and Nicholas Servello and by a sister, Angelina Foster. Relatives and friends are invited to visitation at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 220 N. Washington St., Herkimer on Tuesday, February 23, 2010 from 5-8 p.m. Mr. Servello’s funeral will commence at 10 am on Wednesday, Feb. 24th from Mt. Zion Ministries, Utica with Joseph’s son, Pastor Michael Servello, officiating. He will be laid to rest in the spring in Calvary Cemetery, Herkimer where full military honors will be accorded.
