FORT PLAIN- Mr. Roger J.Bower, 72, of Reid St. entered into eternal rest on January 18, 2010. He was born on February 27,1937 in Mineola, NY , the son of the late Gustave and Gladys (Bach) Bower. He proudly served his country during the Korean War with the United States Navy. Roger was a successful local businessman over the years, conducting auctions, owning a restaurant and a trucking company. He farmed, became an auctioneer and eventually settled into a small business buying and selling antiques. He enjoyed woodworking and made beautiful furniture. Survivors include his daughter Susanne Ketring and her husband Richard of Sparks, NV; his son Michael of Fort Plain; his grandchildren Christopher Bower and Matthew Ketring; his brother Roy Bower of Fort Plain and his longtime companion Ruthie Dornburgh. In keeping with Roger’s wishes there will be no calling hours.
