Obituary of Arthur Fuhs

ST. JOHNSVILLE- Mr. Arthur W. Fuhs, 72, of Klock Rd. entered into eternal rest Wednesday November 4,2009 at Albany Medical Center with his wife, children and grandchildren at his side. Arthur was born on July 16,1937, in Fort Plain, the son of the late Louis and Margaret (Brennan) Fuhs and stepson of the late Nick Carroll. On July 1,1961 he was united in marriage with Carol Dockerty at St. Patricks Church. He proudly served his country in the U.S Army in the Korean War from 1954-1957. He was a gun maker for Remington Arms in Ilion. He was a member of SAVAC, the ST. Johnsville Fire Dept, the Drum and Bugle Corps, Cub Scouts, a Little League coach and The American Legion Post # 168. He enjoyed golfing, bowling and other sports. He especially loved following the St. Johnsville Girls Soccer Team to Rochester where they won the State Championship in 2000. He continued to hold a close relationship with many of the team members. Survivors include his beloved wife Carol; his daughters Ann Marie Simon and her husband Alan of Bremerton,WA; Kelly Scunziano and her husband Bob of Northville, his son Robert Fuhs and his wife Diana of Hobe Sound,FL; his grandchildren Jared and Brianne Simon, Deanna and Edmund Fuhs and Nicholas and Matthew Scunziano; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents Louis and Margaret;his stepfather Nick Carroll; his son Edmund Fuhs; his grandson Jeremy Simon; his brothers Richard and Owen Fuhs and his in laws Helen and Ed Dockerty. The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday November 6,2009 from 6:30-9pm at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 9 Center St. Saint Johnsville. Interment of cremains will take place at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in Arthur’s name to the American Legion Post #168. Envelopes may be obtained at the funeral home.
