Obituary of Gladys Marino

ST. JOHNSVILLE- Gladys A. Marino, 102, of Timmerman Ave. entered into eternal rest on Tuesday December 22, 2009 at St. Johnsville Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. She was born on July 18,1907 in Correll, Minnesota, the daughter of the late James and Emma ( Mews ) LaLond. On March 25,1925 she was united in marriage with Roy J. Marino in Sandy Creek, NY.They celebrated 64 years of marriage until Roy’s passing on June 25,1989. Gladys was a machine operator for Corso Dress Shop in St. Johnsville. She also worked for Sandrees Dress Shop in Little Falls. She was a woman of many talents with a big heart who will sorely be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. She especially enjoyed sewing, needlepoint, cooking and gardening. Survivors include her sons Robert E.. Marino and his wife Linda of St. Johnsville, David J. Marino and his wife Jan of Colorado; her daughters Marjorie Godwin and her husband Richard of St. Johnsville, Veronica Marino of Canajoharie; her 15 grandchildren, many great grandchildren,several great great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Roy,her infant son Richard, her son Roy Jr.; her brother Charles, Percy, Melvin, James ; and her sisters Selma, Florence, Myrtle, Bernice and Theresa In keeping with Gladys’ wishes there will be no calling hours. Burial will take place in the spring of 2010 at the convenience of her family. She will be buried alongside her beloved husband. The family is being cared for by the Enea Family Funeral Home, St. Johnsville, NY. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks and gratitude to the staff of St. Johnsville Rehabilitation and Nursing Center for the love and care they gave to Gladys .
