Obituary of Marion Kupiec

FRANKFORT-Marion J. (Balio) Kupiec, 59 of Southside Road, Frankfort went home to be with the Lord peacefully on Friday evening, November 13, 2009 with the love and dedicated support of her family by her side. Her passing occurred at Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare, New Hartford following a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Utica on January 25, 1950, daughter of the late Cosmo and Angela (Tofolo) Balio and graduated from Frankfort High School. It was on May 17, 1980 that she was united in marriage with Michael Kupiec in Rome, with whom she shared nearly 30 years in a blessed union filled with mutual love and devotion. Marion was last employed with Millennium Antenna, Utica and was formerly employed with Cogar, ICL, GE, Par Technology and Partlow. She was of the Catholic faith and a communicant of Our Lady of the rosary, New Hartford. A woman of great strength, Marion confronted all her challenges with strength and courage. She was always concerned about others, and her selflessness surpassed the standards of good will that most of us put forward. For 14 years she took loving care of her parents. She loved her garden and flowers. When time permitted, Marion loved taking trips to the Turning Stone Casino and spending time with her twin sister, Marie. She felt privileged and blessed to have a loving bond with her husband and son who consequently took tremendous care of her during her illness. Marion will be sadly missed but forever remembered by her loving family and friends. Survivors include her husband: Michael of Frankfort; a son: Michael Kupiec, Jr., of Florida; a brother: Anthony Balio of Frankfort; four sisters: Marie Balio (twin sister) of Frankfort, Dolores Balio of Arizona, Cosmina Provenzano and husband Guy of Frankfort, and Darlene Balio Abbatecola and husband Thomas of Frankfort; her special friend: Valarie Goodemote; her God Daughter: Joanna Premo; a brother in law: Stanley Kupiec, Jr.; many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles and great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother in law, Brian Kupiec in 2004. The family will be present at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Road, Town of Frankfort on Monday, November 16, 2009 from 4-7 p.m. to receive relatives and friends. Marion’s funeral will commence at 8 am on Tuesday, November 17th from the chapel of the Enea Family Funeral Home where prayer will be offered and at 9 am from Our Lady of the Rosary Church, New Hartford where the Rev. Felix Colosimo, pastor will celebrate her Mass of Christian Burial. Procession will follow to Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Frankfort will she will be laid to rest. Memorial contribution may be made to the Marion J. Kupiec family; envelopes and donations can be made at the funeral home. The family is deeply grateful for the care offered by Dr. Eric Yoss and his staff as well as for Dr. William Ryan, Jr., and the sixth floor oncology unit at Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare, new Hartford.
