FRANKFORT-Denise M. (Griffin) Medina, 49 of Second Avenue, Extension, entered into eternal rest suddenly on Saturday morning, February 13, 2010 in St. Elizabeth's Medical Center, Utica. At the time of her passing, she had the love and support of her family by her side. She was born in Ilion on March 13, 1959, daughter of the late Alice (Fink) Griffin and Leo Griffin, Sr., of Utica and graduated from Ilion High School. On March 2, 1980 she was united in marriage with John Joseph Medina in New Jersey, a union of 29 years. She was last employed with Wilcor International, Schuyler. Survivors include her beloved family; her husband John of Frankfort; her father, Leo of Utica; three daughters: Michele Medina, Christine Medina and Jessica Medina all of Frankfort; a brother: Leo Griffin also of Frankfort; a sister: Brenda Craine of Maine; a cherished granddaughter: Jasmine Marie Medina; and many nieces. She was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Doolen. Denise was an innate caregiver, always concerned for the well-being of her family members; she dedicated herself unselfishly to the task of tending to the needs of her loved ones. Her close and loving relationships with her family with whom she adored and appreciated provided her with much joy and pride. She loved to be outdoors and taking part in activities such as cookouts and tending to flowers. In her leisure time she loved crossword puzzles, playing bingo and cards. The family will be present at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Rd., town of Frankfort, to receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, February 16, 2010 from 5-7 p.m. Her funeral will commence at the conclusion of calling hours (7 pm) on Tuesday from the chapel of the funeral home with Pastor Jack Cogar officiating. She will be laid to rest in the spring at Mt. View Memorial Gardens, town of Little Falls. The family is being cared for by Daniel J. Enea, funeral director.
