Obituary of James Green

Mr. James Kent Green 53 of 72 Steele Avenue Gloversville, died unexpectedly Christmas Eve afternoon December 24, 2009 at Nathan Littauer Hospital after suffering an apparent heart attack. Jim was born in Little Falls, New York on February 13, 1956 the son of Daniel Green of Dolgeville and the late Janet Johnson and was a graduate of Johnstown High School. His marriage to the former Donna Bunce took place on July 18, 1987 at his summer residence at Caroga Lake, New York. Jim was the owner and operator of Classical Cleaners in Gloversville, and also worked for Matt’s Car Crushers and Gilmore Oil Company. He was a member of the St. Patrick’s Masonic Lodge of Johnstown, the St. George’s Masonic Lodge of Schenectady, and a member of the Valley of Schenectady Accent & Accepted Order of Scottish Rite. He personally enjoyed working as the lighting person for the Colonial Theater, along with serving as the former treasure for the Fulton –Montgomery County Airport. His knowledge of computer technology earned him the family title as computer Guru. He is survived by his wife Donna of 22 years, his Father and his wife, Dan and Nancy Green of Dolgeville, his Godparents who raised him Garfield and Joyce Ashlaw of Gloversville, his siblings Susan, Daniel and Kenneth, , along with Patrick Herringshaw and Norma Herringshaw- Williams, his stepdaughter Amy White, his grandchildren Chelsea Horton and Kenneth Horton and several Nieces and Nephews, his beloved canine friend Bentley. He was pre deceased by a Sister Holly and his Mother Janet. Funeral services will be held Tuesday December 29, 2009 at 2:30 in the afternoon at the Roberts & Enea Funeral Home 3 Faville Avenue Dolgeville. Spring burial will be in the Salisbury Rural Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday from 1PM until the time of the service. Masonic ritualistic services will be held prior to the funeral service. Memorial is Jim’s name may be sent to the Fulton County SPCA at 486 Stevers Mills Road Broadalbin, NY 12025.
