Obituary of David Johnson

David Paul “Bugsy” Johnson 53 a resident of the Mohawk Valley Nursing Home since November 18th, and who was residing at 760 East Monroe Street Little Falls and a life long Dolgeville native, died Sunday December 13, 2009 after an extended illness. David was born in Little Falls, on March 15, 1956 the son of Christopher and Nandine (Green) Johnson of Dolgeville and attended Dolgeville Schools. Although David left school early he was very proud of the fact that he earned his GED in 2000. David was married to the former Alena Harris on July 9, 1977. He was employed by the Gilford Mills in Herkimer as a shipping and receiving clerk until his illness forced him to leave. David was an avid bowler and golfer belonging to many Dolgeville bowling leagues and often serving as its’ treasure. He was a member of the Dolgeville Golf League and also served as its’ treasure and secretary for many years. He personally enjoyed hunting every fall with family and friends. He is survived by his daughters Elizabeth Altieri of Little Falls, Melissa Pierce and her husband David of Ft. Bragg, North Carolina, his parents Chris and Nandine Johnson of Dolgeville, his Brothers Paul Johnson and his companion Linda of Little Falls, Robert and his wife Tammy of Ithaca , Mark and his wife Lucinda “Cindy” of Dolgeville, Kevin and his wife Marion of Salisbury , Jack Johnson of Dolgeville ,Christopher Jr. and his wife Barbara of Dolgeville, and Gary and his wife Jodi of Mississippi, a Sister Darlene Hagarty and her husband George of Florida ,His Grandchildren Travis, Marietta, Hunter and Tyler along with several Nieces and Nephews and his many friends at Stewarts. David has donated his body to the Anatomical Gift Program at Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse. At this time there are NO Calling hours and a celebration of his life will be held on Saturday December 19, 2009 at 4 PM at the Dolgeville United Methodist Church on Helmer Avenue. Rev. Joseph Chamberlin will officiate. Family and friends are invited. In lieu of flowers Memorials in David’s memory may be given to the family at the services on Saturday. His arrangements are entrusted to Brian A. Roberts of the Roberts & Enea Funeral Home 3 Faville Avenue Dolgeville.
