Obituary of Lois Moore

BROADALBIN- Mrs. Lois Moore, 94 of 1st Ave., a resident of River Ridge Living Center in Amsterdam, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday March 17, 2010 after an extended illness. She was born on June 14, 1915 in Salisbury Center, the daughter of the late Ray Willard and Daisy Kent (Miller) Harper. Mrs. Moore graduated from Dolgeville High School, Fulton Montgomery Community College and Empire State College. She was married to Edgar E. Moore on June 14, 1933. They operated the Moore Funeral Home in Dolgeville until moving to Canada Lake in 1950. Mrs. Moore served as an airplane observer/spotter in WWII and is a life member of the Order of the Eastern Star (Dolgeville). She was a member of and served as organist and choir director at the North Bush Methodist Church and later at the Broadalbin United Methodist Church after moving to Broadalbin in 1972. Mrs. Moore worked as a substitute teacher at various Fulton County schools. She also enjoyed working in her flower gardens. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family. She is survived by her daughter Denise Brehmer and her husband Larry of Broadalbin, her son Bronson E. Moore and his wife Linda of Broadalbin; her grandchildren Scott Moore and his wife Tonya of Mayfield, Jeffrey Moore and his wife Wendy of Broadalbin, Timothy Brehmer of Broadalbin, Christopher Brehmer and his wife Susan of Portland, OR; her great grandchildren Hayden Moore, Noah Moore and Sierra Kalkbrenner. She was predeceased by her husband Edgar E. Moore, her brother Kale Harper and wife Dorothy, her brother Willard Harper and wife Helene, and nephews Kermit Harper and Douglas Harper. In keeping with Lois’ wishes there will be no calling hours. There will be a memorial service at the convenience of the family. Memorials may be sent to the North Bush Methodist Church, Broadalbin United Methodist Church or the charity of your choice.
