NEW HARTFORD-ILION - Marilyn Grace Devine, age 52, of 3 Morris Circle, New Hartford, NY, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 6, 2009, in New York City, from complications due to diabetes, after attending a concert. She was born on April 5, 1957, in Cleveland, OH, the daughter of Emery L. and Agnes (Berry) Devine. Marilyn attended RIT and received her degree in Computer Science. She was a loyal employee at Lockheed-Martin, New Hartford, for many years. She was a founder, past president and member of the Local Chapter C.H.A.D.D. for many years. Every year, she participated in the American Heart Association Annual Heart Run & Walk in Utica. For many years, she volunteered for COMPEER. Her greatest joy was traveling to and attending concerts all over the United States. She was an avid lover of animals, especially her cats. Marilyn will be missed by her many friends and co-workers. Everyone loved her. Survivors include her son, Brit Aaron Devine, of New Hartford; her mother and stepfather, Agnes and Pastor Jack Cogar, of Frankfort; a beloved aunt, Edna Halvorsen, of Kansas City, MO; and many friends and co-workers. Friends and relatives are invited to attend Marilyn’s memorial service and Celebration of Life at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, October 28, 2009, at Applegate-Day & Enea Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Rd., Ilion, with Pastor Jack Cogar officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM prior to the service at the funeral home. The family wishes to thank their many friends for the caring support, kindness and prayers they have received. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made to C.H.A.D.D., Herkimer Co. Humane Society or American Heart Association.
