Mrs. Catherine Ida Bunce 72 a resident of Valley Health services in Herkimer since January and a former Dolgeville resident died Sunday June 21, 2009 at Valley Health Services. Catherine was born in Dolgeville on April 25, 1937 the daughter of Burlin and Etta (Comstock) Daley and was educated in schools in Van Hornsville and Stratford. She was married twice, first to Leon L. Moore on December 5, 1933, until that marriage ended in 1968. She then married Glenn A. Bunce on August 7, 1971. Glenn predeceased her on November 26, 1998. Catherine was employed by area companies, including Leda Shoe, Adirondack Bat Company and she retired from the Daniel Green Company due to a disability. Catherine’s love of her family was foremost, especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed working with the Boy Scout Troop 18 on the many fund drives that they had, while her son Glenn was active in it. She personally enjoyed cards and bingo. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Dolgeville Fire Department and a former member of the Dolgeville Manheim Historical Society. She is survived by her daughters and their husbands Kathleen Huldenbrandt of Ilion, Karen and Frank Forte’ of Middleville, Betty Lou Moore of Texas, her sons and their wives Elroy and Laurie Moore of RD Mohawk, Fred L. and Susanne Moore of Marion, North Carolina, George and Debbie Moore of Cleveland, Tenn., Kevin Moore of Dolgeville, Glenn J. Bunce and his fiancée’ Nicole DiBenedetto of Little Falls, Her Sisters Pauline LaGrange of Dolgeville, Carol and James Snyder of RD Newport, her Brothers James and Eleanor Daley of California, Clinton and Kathleen Daley of RD Little Falls, Albert and Mozella Daley of Lawton, Ok, Burlin and Valerie Daley of Dolgeville and her Grandchildren KevinII, Ricky, Billy, Johnny, Catherine, Chip, Jenna, Khristian, Bucky, Brendt, Samuel, Elizabeth, Lisa, Caroline, Elroy Jr., Andrea, Christopher, Jonathan, Tiffeny, Jessie, Al ,Sherrie and Tiffany. Several Nieces and Nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter Gail Johnson on February 10, 2003, a Son Jeffrey in January 1970 and her daughter in law Patricia Moore on March 19, 2009, and a Brother Jack Daley and her two granddaughters Tanya and Cassandra. Funeral services will be held Wednesday June 24, 2009 at 4PM at the Dolgeville Christian Fellowship on Elm Street Dolgeville, with Pastor Marvin Isum officiating. Calling hours are from 2-3:30 PM at the Christian Fellowship hall. Burial will follow in the Curtis Cemetery, town of Salisbury. Memorials in Catherine’s name should be made to the Dolgeville Christian Fellowship fund. Envelopes will be available at the services.
