Obituary of Stephen Call

MOHAWK - Stephen “Steve” P. Call, age 58, of 28 John St., Mohawk, passed away peacefully Saturday, Aug. 29, 2009, at home after a long illness. He was born on July 5, 1951, in Cooperstown, N.Y., the son of Calvin W. and Audrey (Clive) Call and attended Mohawk Central School. On July 25, 2007, Steve was married to Debbie (Gay) Holden in Mohawk. He was employed as a machine operator at Remington Arms Co., Ilion. At one time Steve was active with Salisbury Ridge Runners. Survivors include his wife, Debbie; his children, Lori Cervantes and her husband, Salvador of Orlando, Fla., Stephen Call of Orlando, Fla., Candace Gage and her husband, Charles, of Newport, Justin Holden and his wife, Summer, of Ilion; his brothers, Dan Call and his wife, Deborah, Harold Call, all of Utica; his sister, Patricia Snedeker of Frankfort; his grandchildren, Andrew, Devin, Mia, Mason, Kyleigh, Lium, Isabela, Kadence and Briar; his mother-in-law, Shirley Gay of Mohawk; his Uncle George Clive and his wife, Ginger, of Frankfort; several brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and his godchild, Amy Schimmenti of North Carolina. He was predeceased by his father, William Calvin Call, his mother, Audrey Snedeker and step-dad, Frederick Snedeker. Friends and relatives are invited to attend calling hours on Tuesday, Sept.. 1, 2009, from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. at the Applegate-Day & Enea Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Rd., Ilion. Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. The family wishes to thank Dr. Razia and staff for the special care given to Steve. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made to The Stephen P. Call Memorial Fund. Envelopes will be available during calling hours at the funeral home. Debbie and her family have entrusted all service arrangements to Applegate-Day & Enea Family Funeral Home, Don Applegate, funeral director.
