Obituary of Robert E Chrisman

LITTLE FALLS-Mr. Robert E. Chrisman, Sr., 93 formerly of Hancock St. and most recently of Folts Homes, Herkimer, passed away on Wednesday morning, March 11, 2009 in St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center, Utica. He was born in the town of Herkimer on March 16, 1915, son of the late Charles and Lena (Mosher) Chrisman and has resided most of his life in Little Falls. He married Arleta M. Pross on March 16, 1946 in the United Methodist Parsonage, Little Falls. Mrs. Chrisman passed away in 2002. Robert was a U.S. Army veteran serving during World War II. He enlisted on May 1, 1941 and was honorably discharged on November 21, 1945 holding the rank of Tech Fifth Grade. He was last employed with H.P. Snyder Manufacturing, Little Falls and belonged to the Little Falls American Legion Post #31. Robert attended United Methodist Church, Herkimer/Little Falls. Mr. Chrisman is survived by three sons: Robert E. Chrisman Jr., and friend Brenda of Little Falls, Keith A. “Groovy” Chrisman and wife Norma of Little Falls and Ronald A. Chrisman and fiance Sue also of Little Falls; a daughter: Joan M. Chrisman; eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by a daughter: Shirley Fiaschetti and several siblings. Visitation at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 24 W. Monroe St, Little Falls will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2009 from 12noon-2 p.m. Relatives and friends are also invited to attend his funeral service commencing at 2 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Roger Klossner, chaplain of Folts Homes officiating. Spring interment will take place in Mt. View Memorial Gardens, town of Little Falls with military honors being offered by the United States Army. Memorial contributions can be made to Folts Homes, Herkimer or the Little Falls Babe Ruth Program; envelopes are available at the funeral parlor. Members of the American Legion Post #31 will conduct their service at 1 p.m. on Saturday afternoon at the funeral home.
