Obituary of Emogene Dodson

Mrs. Emogene Agnes Dodson 85 a resident of the Alpine Rehabilitation & Nursing Center and formerly of Parkside Court Dolgeville, died Thursday afternoon August 27, 2009 at Little Falls Hospital. She was born in Dolgeville on June 27, 1924 the daughter of Roy and Ethel (Bliss) Gressler and was educated in St. Mary’s School in Little Falls. Her first marriage was to Edward Carmen, and on April 28, 1972 she married Harold J. Dodson in St. Johnsville, New York. Mr. Dodson predeceased her on March 18, 1999. Emogene was employed by area companies including Snyder’s Manufacturing and Little Falls Felt Shoe Company and she retired from Motronics Company of Little Falls in 1987. She was of the Catholic Faith and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary of Little Falls. Her personal interests were in games of chance including bingo, slots and cards. She particularly liked the pitch games at Parkside Court in the afternoons. Surviving her is her sons, Forbes J. and his wife Judy Carmen of Dolgeville, Roger Dodson of Tennessee, Donald Dodson of St. Johnsville, a Daughter Beverley Dodson of Gloversville, her Grandchildren Scott and his wife Susan Carmen and Renee Carmen –Ayers and her husband William, her great Grandchildren Kathryn, Krista and Kyle, along with additional step grandchildren and Nieces and Nephews. Funeral services will be held Tuesday September 1, 2009 at 11 AM at the Roberts & Enea Funeral Home 3 Faville Avenue Dolgeville, with Deacon Peter Manno of St. Joseph’s Church offering prayer. Burial will follow in Rural Park Cemetery, Inghams Mills. Calling hours are on Tuesday from 10AM until the time of the Service.
