Obituary of Catherine Kwiecinski

Mrs. Catherine Kwiecinski 94 of Cross Street Yorkville, a resident of the Presbyterian Home for CNY, since September 2006, died Thursday August 20, 2009 at the home with the support and love of her daughter and her son in law Joan and Norman Ulinski at her side. She was born in Utica, on October 13, 1914 the daughter of Peter and Mary (Sito) Warchal and was educated in St. Stanislaus School. Her marriage to Richard N. Kwiecinski took place on November 7, 1936 in St. Stanislaus Church East Utica, with nearly 70 years of marriage, prior to his death on October 11, 2006. Catherine was a faithful communicant of St. Mary’s church in New York Mills along with being a member of the Scared Heart Rosary Society, the New York Mills, Hilltop and Yorkville Senior Citizens clubs. A devoted wife and mother her family always came first, especially at the holidays, when she would entertain the family at the traditional Polish “Wigilia” celebration. Her other joy was working in her yard gardening and meticulously caring for her lawn and flowers. She is survived by her daughters Jean (Shirley) Jarema of Fayetteville, PA., Joan (Arlene) and her husband Norman Ulinski of Whitesboro, her Grandchildren Richard Ulinski and Carolyn Laramie of Whitesboro, Regina and her husband Thomas Shannon of Fairport, NY, Melanie and her husband Steve Trutkoff of Woodbine, MD, Kim Jarema of Silver Spring, MD, and Mark Jarema of Sykesville, MD., her great Grandchildren Danielle, Nicolette, Elizabeth, Thomas and Zachary, a Sister Irene Kwiecinski of Yorkville, a Sister in law Jane Warchal of North Utica, several Nieces and Nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Chester Warchal. A funeral Mass will be offered on Monday August 24, 2009 at 11 AM in Scared Heart/St. Mary’s Church New York Mills. The Rev. Val Krohl Pastor will be the celebrant. Burial will follow in St’s Stanislaus & Casmir’s Cemetery Whitesboro. Calling hours will be on SUNDAY from 4-7 PM at the Wolain Funeral Home Inc. 266 Main Street New York Mills. Memorials may be made to the Memorial Fund of the church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Her family would especially like to thank Dr. Thomas Spath, along with the staff of the Presbyterian Home, especially the Willow Wing for their care and kindness while Catherine was a resident there.
