Obituary of Mary Loccia

ST. JOHNSVILLE- Mrs. Mary T. Loccia, 94, entered into eternal rest on Friday July 24, 2009 at St. Johnsville Rehabilitation & Nursing Center. She was born on October 2, 1914 in Dolgeville, daughter of the late John and Angelina (Politi) Covuoto. On October 8, 1938 she was united in marriage to Eralio P. Loccia "Rattio" at St. Joseph's Church in Dolgeville. Their union lasted 60 years until his death in 1998. She was of the Catholic Faith and a parishioner of St. Patrick's Church in St. Johnsville. She loved to cook, enjoyed bingo at the nursing home and most of all she was a terrific mother. Her first and foremost priority in life was her family. Survivors include her son Robert Loccia and his wife Sherry of St. Johnsville; her daughter Sharon Flanders and her longtime companion Richard Carter of St. Johnsville; her brothers Andrew Covuoto of Dolgeville and John Covuoto and his wife Ann of Dolgeville; her sisters Lucy Enea of Herkimer and Rose Darling of Dolgeville; her grandchildren Deanna Shafer and her husband Brian, Derik Flanders and his wife Jennifer, Dennis Flanders, Robert P. Loccia and his companion Barb Czelusniak, Scarlett Hurteau and her husband Jeremy; her great grandchildren Hunter Loccia, Tamara Shafer, Emma Flanders, Conrad Flanders, Audrey Flanders, Jason Pollack, Nicole Pollack; her son in-law David Pollack and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She is predeceased by her daughter Janet T. Pollack. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Enea Family Funeral Home 9 Center St. Saint Johnsville from 2-4 & 6-8 pm on Tuesday July 28,2009. Mrs. Loccia's funeral will commence at 9:30am on Wednesday July 29,2009 from the chapel of the funeral home where prayer will be offered and at 10:00am from St. Patrick's Church in St. Johnsville where the Rev. James Clark will celebrate her Mass of Christian Burial. Procession will follow to St. Johnsville Cemetery where she will be laid to rest alongside her beloved husband.
