Obituary of Robin Manfreda

ILION-Mrs. Robin Manfreda, of South Fourth Ave., entered into eternal rest peacefully on Sunday evening, January 11, 2009 in Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare, New Hartford after a valiant battle with cancer. When her passing occurred, she had the love and support of her husband, two daughters and family at her bedside. She was born in Troy, the daughter of the late Stanley and Dorothy (Ramroth) Rubel and received her education in Troy Catholic High School. She graduated from Hudson Valley Community College with a degree in special education teaching. Her marriage to Kevin Manfreda took place in Sacred Heart Church, Troy on June 21, 1975. Mr. and Mrs. Manfreda have maintained a devoted relationship throughout their 33-year union. They have resided in Ilion since 1977. Robin was currently employed with Remington Elementary School, Ilion as special education assistant, a career that was filled with much-accomplishment and much-success. She was of the Catholic faith. Robin was a loving woman and devoted herself to her family and most recently her cherished grandson. She offered support, strength and encouragement to her loved ones and provided a happy and secure home for them. Throughout her life she made an impact on people, both within her family circle and beyond, and leaves them with countless beautiful and inspiring memories of their association with her. Besides spending time with her family, she enjoyed reading and traveling, especially to Maine. Survivors include her beloved husband Kevin of Ilion; two loving daughters: Stephanie Urtz and husband Joseph of Ilion and Jessica Manfreda and fiancé Kyle Marchese of Clark Mills; a sister: Kimberly Lettko and husband Paul of Troy; a brother in law: John Manfreda and wife Anne of New Jersey; her cherished grandson: Joseph Matthew Urtz; an uncle and aunt: Donald and Eileen Ramroth of Troy; nieces: Elizabeth, Laura, and Allison Manfreda; a nephew: Zachery Lettko; and many cousins and friends. The family would like to thank Dr. Butala and the nursing staff of Faxton-St. Luke’s Regional Cancer Center for the special concern and compassion with which they cared for Robin. Family and friends are invited to calling hours on Tuesday, January 13, 2009 from 4-7 p.m at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Rd., between Ilion and Frankfort, 894-8000 and invited to her funeral service, commencing at 7 p.m. this evening at the funeral home with Father Mark Cunningham officiating. She will be laid to rest in the spring at a time to be announced. In lieu of floral tributes, kindly consider memorial offerings to the Faxton-St. Luke’s Regional Cancer Center, or to the Ronald McDonald Home, envelopes may be obtained the funeral home.
