Obituary of Ellen Migliore

HERKIMER-Ellen (Rosky) Migliore, 51, of West Steele Street, passed away unexpectedly on Monday morning, May 11, 2009 after giving birth to beautiful twin boys, Max and Salvatore Migliore, Jr. Ellen's untimely passing occurred in Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare, New Harford and she was comforted with the love and support of her family. She was born on October 25, 1957, in New Hartford, daughter of the late Henry S. Rosky and Sarah (Miullo) Rosky Femia who resides in Utica. She graduated from Chadwicks High School and received a Master’s Degree from SUNY IT. On August 19, 1989, Ellen was joined in marriage with Salvatore “Sal” Migliore in Sts. Anthony and Joseph Church, Herkimer with whom she shared in the promise of love and devotion and the joys of raising their beloved son, Matthew and hopes of the same joys with their newborn twins, Max and Salvatore, Jr. Ellen was well known by her co-workers at Herkimer County Public Health where she held the position of Lead Program Director and was also serving on the Governor’s Lead Task Force. She was a communicant of Sts. Anthony and Joseph Church, Herkimer. Ellen appreciated family times and the excitement of family gatherings, especially during the holidays and get-togethers. Ellen was blessed with three beautiful children who she loved dearly and will forever watch over them and love them from her home in heaven above. Ellen’s heart also held a special place for her dog Hunter who brought her much love. She especially enjoyed the times spent lounging around and swimming in her pool, it was very special to her as it brought her much comfort and peacefulness. In her spare time she enjoyed collecting antiques and crystal. Survivors include her loving family; her husband of nearly 20 years, Salvatore “Sal” Migliore; three cherished sons: Matthew, Max and Salvatore Migliore, Jr.,; Ellens mother: Sarah Rosky Femia and her late husband Vincent Femia; a brother: John Rosky and partner Keith Schuderer; her father in law and mother in law: Ben and Jeanine Migliore of Herkimer; aunts and uncles: Mary Decker of Utica, Rose Rosky of Tupper Lake, John and Sue Migliore of Frankfort, Rocco J. Lamanna of Herkimer and Anthony Lamanna of Ilion; nieces: Nicole and Lyndsay LaBarge; nephews: Brent J. Rosky and Benjamin Migliore; brother in law and sister in law: Ben and Patti Migliore of Herkimer and in laws: Gina and Ken LaBarge of Mohawk; a step sister: MaryBeth Donavan and husband Andrew; and step brother: David Femia and wife Patricia. Also surviving are many cousins and dear friends. The Migliore family will receive relatives and friends at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 220 N. Washington St, Herkimer on Wednesday, May 13, 2009 from 5-9 p.m. Ellen’s funeral will commence at 9 am on Thursday, May 14, 2009 from the funeral home where prayer will be offered and at 10 am from Sts. Anthony and Joseph Church, Herkimer where her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Anthony Ligato, pastor. Funeral procession will follow to Calvary Cemetery, Herkimer where she will be laid to rest. In lieu of floral offerings, kindly consider memorial offerings to the Ellen Migliore memorial fund; to be used for her children’s education. Envelopes may be obtained at the funeral parlor. A gracious thank you is extended to the caring staffs involved in the care of Max and Sal at Crouse-Irving's Neonatal Care Unit and St. Luke's Neonatal Care Unit, all of whom continue to offer tender, love and care. A heartfelt thank you is also extended to many special friends and family members who assisted with concern and support.
