Obituary of Elizabeth Resler

ST. JOHNSVILLE- Mrs. Elizabeth “ Betty” L. Resler, 86 entered into eternal rest on Monday August 10, 2009 at Mary Imogene Bassett Hospital in Cooperstown with her loving family by her side. She was born on March 11, 1923 in St. Johnsville, daughter of the late John W. and Rose (Fortune) Davis. On December 16, 1944 she was joined in marriage with William G. Resler at St. Patrick’s Church in St. Johnsville. Their loving union lasted for 61 years until William’s passing in 2006. Elizabeth was a lifelong resident of St. Johnsville, having graduated from St. Johnsville High School in 1940, a loyal parishioner at St. Patricks Church, and was a member of the Senior Saints, The Rosary Society and the Business Girls. She was employed as a bank teller at Central National Bank. Survivors include her son Paul W. Resler and his wife Judith of Minnesota; her 3 daughters: Jean Ghosin and her husband Charles of Canastota, Barbara A. Coco and her husband Raymond of Niskayuna, and Ellen R. Allen and her companion Paul Hoffman of St. Johnsville; her 6 grandchildren; Jonathan Resler, Lynn Resler and her husband Brian, Juli Mueller and her husband Brandon, Paul Coco, Jeffrey Allen and his wife Stephanie and Jennifer Allen; her great-grandson Jacob Mueller, her sisters Helen Altman of Washington and Janet R. Raphael of Syracuse and several nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws. She is pre deceased by her granddaughter Beth Ann Coco, her brother Henry Davis and her sister Jean Davis. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Enea Family Funeral Home. 9 Center St. Saint Johnsville on Saturday August 15, 2009 from 10:30-11:30am. Elizabeth’s funeral will commence at 11:30AM on Saturday August 15, 2009 from the chapel of the funeral home where prayer will be offered and at 12pm from St. Patricks R.C. Church where the Rev. James Clark will celebrate her Mass of Christian Burial. Procession will follow to West St. Johnsville Cemetery where she will be laid to rest alongside her beloved husband Bill. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to SAVAC or St. Patrick’s Church. Envelopes may be obtained at the funeral home.
