MOHAWK-Mrs. Jennie P. Rockwell, 91 a resident of the Country Manor, entered into eternal rest on Friday morning, July 17, 2009 in Little Falls Hospital. She was born in Herkimer on May 22, 1918, the daughter of the late Ludwig and Victoria Warkowski and educated in Herkimer schools. She was united in marriage with Bernard F. Rockwell in 1936. Mr. Rockwell passed away on March 17, 1998. Jennie was last employed with the former Duofold Company, Mohawk and was of the Catholic faith. Jennie personally enjoyed quilting, crocheting and sewing. Her happiest times were spent baking, cooking and caring for her family. She also enjoyed gardening. Survivors include her loving family; a daughter: Elizabeth Brien of Mohawk; three sons: Bernard Rockwell and wife Patricia of Mohawk, Robert Rockwell and wife Patricia of Alabama, and David Rockwell and wife Beverly of Mohawk; a son in law: Willard Van Evera of Ilion, a sister: Peggy Sosnoski of Herkimer; fifteen grandchildren; several great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Harriet Van Evera, by her brothers: Walter, Frank and Raymond Warkowski, and by her sister Lottie Aiello. There are no public calling hours. The family will have a private funeral service with interment taking place in Mohawk Cemetery.
