Obituary of Theodore Rutkowski

HERKIMER-Mr. Theodore F. “Ted” Rutkowski, 91, of East Steele Street, passed away on Sunday evening, July 26, 2009 in Mohawk Valley Nursing Home, Ilion. He was born on December 22, 1917 in Jersey City, NJ son of the late William and Cecilia (Kroliskowski) Rutkowski and educated in Norway, NY. On May 28, 1949, he was united in marriage with Evelyn Youker in St. John’s Rectory, Newport, NY. Mrs. Rutkowski passed away on October 11, 1996 after a loving and devoted union of 47 years. Mr. Rutkowski was last employed with the former Library Bureau, Herkimer. He was a devoted member of the Catholic Faith community and Sts. Anthony and Joseph Church, Herkimer. Mr. Rutkowski is survived by two nephews: Lindsay Shibley of Mohawk and Allen Shibley also of Herkimer; a niece: Linda Czarnecki and husband Ron of Nevada. He was preceded in death by three sisters: Janet, Helen and Joan and by one nephew: Leslie Shibley, Jr. There no public calling hours. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to a memorial service commencing at 11 am on Wednesday, August 5, 2009 at Calvary Cemetery, Herkimer with the Rev. Anthony Ligato, pastor of Sts. Anthony and Joseph Church, officiating. In lieu of floral offerings, kindly consider contributions to the Herkimer County Humane Society.
